Composite manufacturing is devoted to creating "softer" structures that integrate with, rather than resist the forces of nature.

COMPOSITE MANUFACTURING

TEF fabric used for composite manufacturing consists of open mesh, intricately woven patterns that can be engineered for specific performance.   TEF truss structures test strength-to-weight parameters, and  patterned, linked, and interlaced fabric offers an alternative to standard braids and knitted materials—yielding flexible and breathable composite structures.

Advantages of TEF's  patterned sleeves for composites:
  • Fabric shape-shifts accurately and evenly over mandrels and shaping tools
  • Engineered performance in fabric by way of pattern engineering
  • Pattern stability facilitates consistent composite processing
  • Lightweight structures due to the open weaves
  • Ability to use a myriad of yarns types and weights
