BIRDBALL
|
|
Braided, structural composite playball with minimal weight and impact resistance.
The Birdball is an oversized shuttlecock with a soft foam head. It is a slow flying playball that is easy to catch and throw. The ball is also used in new games that combine the disciplines of martial arts, footbag, kickboxing, soccer and handball. The games provide for a low stress cardiovascular workout that perfects reflexes & sharpens strategic thinking.
The objective was to design a featherweight play ball that could withstand aggressive kicks, punches and hits. We tested hundreds of weave and matrix combinations in order to create a ball that, was lightweight and able to withstand extreme impact. The Birdball tests the boundaries of lightweight composite construction. The one ounce playball is created using TEF's XHELX patterned fabric and integrated with a soft foam ball. It might surprise you but the Birdball, weighing just one ounce, can endure the hardest kicks and punches, always rebounding flawlessly. This featherweight composite wonder revolutionizes sporting goods technology wherein lighter, stronger and flexible composites are the future.
Similar to a badminton birdie, the ball decreases its speed as it flies through the air, spiraling and turning so the soft foam ball is aligned for catching, kicking, punching or bopping. The ball's shape and structure allow for aggressive play indoors or out without fear of hurting environments or players. Besides being an all round excellent catch and throw ball for players of all ages, the Bird is used in a two different competitive sports called Dodo and Birdball, as well as many unique and enjoyable Bird games and exercises for young and old alike. |
